Professional questions:

Name a mistake you made early in your career and what it has taught you

As an apprentice, I connected a whole floor of lights up wrong resulting in them staying on permanently. I made this mistake because I was worried about asking for the connections again as I felt I should have known.

This was the most important lesson I learned as it taught me that being a good technician is not about knowing everything, it’s about asking the right questions. After all, nobody knows everything!

What professional achievement are you most proud of?

I was a part of the electrical management team on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; a six hundred-million-pound project. Specifically, I was in charge of the five substations as an LV AP Supervisor and was personally responsible for ensuring that everything kept running during some of the earlier matches before the project was officially completed.

How would you describe your job to a five-year-old?

We make the lights and machines work in factories.

What is your favourite thing about working in your chosen job role?

The satisfaction I get when we have provided and completed a quality installation.
