Employee Spotlight - Ryan Tuckley

Project Engineer Ryan Tuckley has been with Elmleigh since 2014 and has had the opportunity to work on various projects with a variety of clients as well as adding a wealth of skills and experience under his belt. As part of learning from our employee’s experience, we sat down together to ask some questions about his time at Elmleigh thus far as well as some fun questions at the end;

How have you enjoyed your time at Elmleigh?

It has been very good, there is always ups and downs in any job you have but overall, it is far by the best company I have worked for

What do you consider your biggest achievement at Elmleigh?

I have a couple really, My biggest achievement at Elmleigh is delivering a lot of big projects, under a lot of pressure and tight deadlines over the years for very big clients, this is something I would never of thought I would ever be getting involved in before I come to Elmleigh

What new skills have you learnt on your journey so far?

Skills I have learned at Elmleigh include

Managing a team

Communication skills with clients and staff

Automation and control systems

Intense specifications in food and Beverage industry

Large LV installs

Large Automation and controls installations

Reading and understanding Wiring schematics

Reading and understanding large layout drawings

Health and safety

 

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Being able to quote several jobs and being able to deliver it through from start to finish with the customer and all involved happy at the end

How do you balance your career at Elmleigh and family/personal time?

Sometimes it can be very difficult to balance work and family time as I work on very big projects that you have to invest a lot time and commitment to.

How has Elmleigh helped you in your career development?

Elmleigh has helped me from the very start by listening to goals that I want to achieve and giving me the chance to achieve these, sometimes I need to keep asking more than once but they always seem to deliver on majority of things.

What does a typical day for you look like?

A typical day for me can be varied…

Meetings

Liaising with customer and our team

Working with the lads on and off the tools

Scheduling Labour

Quoting

Ordering materials

Liaising with wholesalers and our Buyers

Carrying out RAMs

Problem Solving
