Miah McCullagh Joins Team Elmleigh

Project Engineer Miah McCullagh joins Elmleigh as the latest addition to our team. 

Bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise to the industries we operate in. As part of welcoming him to the team we sat down together and asked him some questions about his life and career;

Professional questions:

Elmleigh are always looking for talented and passionate people; what is something that you are passionate about?

To achieve your goals and ambitions in life you must work hard i.e. the most important key to success is having the discipline to do what you know should be done even when you don’t feel like doing it.

Why did you choose to work at Elmleigh?

Elmleigh’s scope of work is varied which will provide stimulating challenges. There are also ideally located and relatively close to home.

What industry-relevant skill do you excel at?

The ability to adapt and manage different types of installations.

Name a mistake you made early in your career and what has it taught you:

Never assume; check and double-check that the task has been completed and made safe.

What professional achievement are you most proud of?

Project managing the fit out at I54, Jaguar Engine Plant Module 1, Module 1A, and Module 4 from conception to handover to the client.

How would you describe your job to a five-year-old?

I go to different sites, meet loads of different people and help them with their electrical work.  

What is your favourite thing about working in your chosen job role?

 I enjoy having a pivotal role in developing a project from conception to handover. I enjoy working with positive people and I enjoy the challenge. I also enjoy learning and enhancing my abilities i.e. everyday is a school day.

Who would play you in a movie about your life and what would the movie be called?

Paul Newman and “the journeyman”

What is the first thing you bought with your first-ever paycheck?

“On Stage” LP by Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and a denim jacket.

What’s your fifteen minutes of fame story?

Playing a blinder for my hometown football team which included saving a penalty.

Alive or dead, who is your ideal dinner guest?

My mum; loads of chat; has a great sense of humour and a very philosophical view on life.
