The Challenge
A Global Food and Beverage client sought support with an interesting challenge: designing and creating a 12.2-meter-long bayed control panel, with 4 separate bays, which needed to be shipped out to Canada.
The panel had to be constructed in a manner that would allow the separate bays to be shipped to Canada, then reconnected upon arrival with minimal need to interfere with internal wiring. This plug and play system was vital, it removed the need to send out a team member from the installation team to the site abroad, making the installation cheaper. For the client.

The Solution
The challenge our control panel team faced was complex. The drawings had to be reviewed because the current design did not allow for the bays to be separated. We suggested changes to the client’s initial design, formulating a solution that enabled the team to connect the bays, making the installation in Canada seamless for the client’s internal installation team.
Another element that arose was ensuring that the panel was marked to UL standards, which differ from the UK’s CE marking standards. The UL mark is a widely recognised certification mark signifying the product has been thoroughly tested and met safety requirements.
Despite the challenges, we manufactured the panel to allow the separation of the bays, which enabled easy shipping to Canada, where it promptly arrived. The configuration to attach the multi-bays was intuitive, allowing the installation team to easily reassemble the panel. The panel provided our client a smooth integration to their existing line upon assembly and activation.
