The Challenge
Elmleigh was engaged to deliver the electrical infrastructure for a new Biogas Facility in Lincolnshire. The project involved integrating a complex cable management and field wiring system to support renewable energy operations. Due to hazardous zones, ATEX compliance was essential, requiring specialist handling of equipment and connections. Working from detailed designs, our team ensured a safe, efficient installation aligned with the client’s sustainability objectives.

The Solution
Elmleigh began by installing a galvanised cable ladder system onto existing structural supports, using manufacturer-approved fixings to ensure long-term durability and regulatory compliance.
Our Team managed the full procurement and installation of power, instrumentation, and communication cabling across the site. All cables were selected to meet the project’s technical specifications, with routing and bunching carried out in accordance with industry standards to ensure safe segregation and optimal system performance.
To support the facility’s automation and control systems, our team installed and tested Profinet communication lines, enabling reliable data transmission throughout the site. Field equipment was clearly labelled and terminated to facilitate ongoing maintenance and ensure traceability.
In hazardous areas, Elmleigh deployed CompEx-certified engineers to install and inspect ATEX-rated connections. Dedicated earthing points were established at each MET location to guarantee the safe operation of all ATEX devices.
The project also included the installation of anti-static pneumatic tubing and stainless-steel fittings within the process pipeline, integrated to support the safe and efficient movement of gas within the facility.
All works were completed using mobile access equipment, with safety and compliance prioritised at every stage. Our team worked collaboratively with the client and other contractors to ensure seamless integration with pre-installed systems and structures.
