A long-standing client within the Snack Food industry approached Elmleigh for the support of a full strip out and manufacturer of Carton track and Direct Feed Conveyors. The challenge for the team was to strip out and install the kit within a live Environment within short, planned area shutdowns.

The solution
To ensure the new system fit within the tight manufacturing space, the team carried out a detailed site survey and 3D scan, later transposed to a floor-printing unit for fast, accurate installation across multiple phases.
The mechanical team began by removing legacy equipment, working with the electrical team to relocate the area’s main control panel and transfer any machinery the client wished to reuse elsewhere. Meanwhile, the manufacturing team produced bespoke steel structures, carton track and direct-feed conveyors, all designed to maximise the limited space.
Given the scale of fabrication, a full PDI was completed before installation. The control panel workshop supported the mechanical team by building custom panels and wiring the system, allowing the client to test everything in a live environment and resolve any issues early, significantly speeding up on-site installation.
Electrically, the team supported the strip-out of legacy equipment, with the major task being relocation of the client’s distribution board, avoiding the need to joint the existing supply cable. All new cabling was installed using stainless steel and blue food-safe ties on bespoke containment, and all repurposed machinery was rewired in their new positions.
The project was a major success for the mechanical team, demonstrating Elmleigh’s capability to handle large, complex turnkey installations. It also reinforced the value of working with a full-service provider able to deliver bespoke solutions in demanding environments.
