Urgent Distribution Board Installation at a leading Automation Equipment Manufacturer

Leicestershire, August 2023

The Challenge

Provide the means of power supply distribution urgently needed for a new Laser Cutting machine that was to be commisioned at a manufacturer of Automation Equipment, complicated by the Chinese origin of the machine supplied with non-UK compliant wiring…

The Solution

Our expert Project Management team produced a UK compliant Electrical Design for the installation using our industry leading ElectricalOM design software, selecting a Schneider SEA9BPN6 6W TP&N Distribution Board as the core component for power distribution. Bespoke cable labelling was generated using our Phoenix Contact THERMOMARK PRIME Label Printer to substitute for the Chinese market colour coded cabling and correctly identify phase and neutral to UK standards. Digital eRAMS generated through the ECA platform were presented to the Duty Holder and accepted as our 'Permit to Work' for the very next day. Our excellent supply chain relationships delivered the Distribution Board all other materials directly to site to coincide with arrival of our SSSTS trained Lead Electrician.

The Outcome

The Laser Cutting machine was handed over for operational commisioning and was cutting sheet steel for the client within 48 hours of Elmleigh receiving the initial enquiry! Another successful project delivered through our efficient and effective Project Management.
